Link to Files

Using Radius, you can make it easy for site visitors to download files to their own computer. Some of the file types you might want to make available to them: PDF, PowerPoint presentations, Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, or MP3 audio files. To make these files accessible, it's a lot like using a hyperlink to get to another page on your site.

Step by Step

  1. Make a note of where the file you want to make available is stored on your computer so you can easily upload it to the server.

  2. Select either a block of text, or an image (this is what the site visitor will click on to get to the file)

    For example:

"Click here to download a PDF"

    - OR -

< an icon of Microsoft PowerPoint

  3. Click the "Link to Document" button Link to Document button.

  4. Click   View / Upload Files

    Link to Document

  5. Upload the file by clicking the "Upload" button, then click the "Add Files" button. More info on Uploading

  6. Find the file you want to upload and double-click it. This will insert the link to the file into the URL field.
If you happen to be linking to a page instead of a document, click the Link Info tab and copy-paste the destination URL into the URL field.

    Enter URL

  7. If you would like the link to open in a new window, click the Target tab, then select New Window (_blank).

    Target

  8. Click  OK
