"Blog" is the popular term mashing together two existing ideas: the public sphere of the internet ("web") and the personal exercise of journaling ("log"). Together, you have a "web log" or "blog" — a public journal. However, in addition to a simple record of your thoughts, blogs carry with them the inherent idea of interaction. Your site visitors are able to comment on your entries thereby creating the foundation for an interactive community of thought that you guide.
